Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull visits Japan
Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe agreed during his visit to Tokyo on 18th January 2018 to bolster cooperation to ensure a “free, open, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific region” built on a “rule-based order,” effectively endorsing Japan's strategy to keep growing military power in check in the region. Melanie was honoured to attend events associated with this visit.

Melanie Brock, CEO of Melanie Brock Japan, was selected to represent Japanese women at the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference, "Women in Leadership" breakfast and addressed the changing demographics in Japan and the nature of leadership required especially with respect to the biggest threat to the Japanese economy which is a dire labour shortage. Even though employment rate for women in their 20s and 30s has increased by 5 percentage points and the solution remains to get even more women working.
