Supporting our Community

COVID-19 virus offers a particular challenge for single parents and their children, as well as across society. Women in particular have been affected as lockdowns triggered by COVID-19 are taking a disproportionate toll on women in the labour market, as the sectors with high rates of female employment are experiencing heavier job losses while increased childcare needs during school closures exert an outsized impact on working mothers. One group of women whose challenges are currently exacerbated in hidden ways are single mothers. Across every sphere, from health to the economy, security to social protection, the impacts of COVID-19 are exacerbated for women and girls simply by virtue of their sex.

NPO/NGO List

We have compiled a list of NGO/NPOs across Japan, but primarily in Tokyo that support women and children, as well as educational support, food and other means. Please let us know if you are actively involved in any, or can contribute to our list.
